According to a recent WalletHub study of 150 cities across the United States (, Colorado cities have been quick to climb out the recession due to a robust business formation climate. Denver boasted the 4th best post-recession recovery economy in the nation. Denver ranked number 1 in the inflow increase of college-educated workers, number 2 in the decrease of home foreclosures, number 1 for employment opportunities, and number 16 for economic environment. The study took into account several factors, including a college educated workforce, unemployment rates, entrepreneurship, and home price appreciation. Aurora was ranked 14th overall and Colorado Springs was ranked 71st overall. Only Laredo, Texas, Irving, Texas, and Fayetteville, NC ranked higher than Denver.


Additionally, the Colorado Department of Labor announced that the state’s unemployment rate was 5.5% in June and the state economy has seen its 32nd consecutive month of job growth.
